Grand Street Settlement Electronics Demonstration

Criteria

  • A handful of projects/circuits that I can show off and explain in about 5-10 minutes (for each project/circuit). There will be batches about 20 kids rotating through for 45 minutes, but they will also spend time with Dave's 3D printer and Crystal's projects.
  • Must impress kids of different ages - age groups are 5-8, 9-13 and 7th+8th graders
  • Use only materials that we have at the space (we can have a look at the parts boxes on Tuesday) or things you will lend/give me on Tuesday night

Projects/Circuits

Simple circuits

Astable and monostable 555 timers

  • LED dimmer

555 based buzzer/motor circuit

?

Arduino/Processing demonstration

  • Connect some sensor (temperature, light), plot chart in Processing, send to Internet
  • Trigger LED/buzzer from computer
