    • Jim Galvin will become official member at next meeting (started paypal)
  • Roof garden
    • $5,000 tax abatement potentially (approx est.)
      • City abatement rate is $4.50/ft2
      • roof is ~2200 ft2
      • half the roof (~1100 ft2) will be green
      • 80% of the designated garden must be planted (as opposed to paths and other infrastructure).
    • Jeff - has architect in mind for sign-off +
    • below 4" of soil we don't need a landscape arch.
      • soil is 75lb/ft3
      • 75lb/ft3 x 80% x 1100 ft2 x 4" = 22,000 lbs of soil
      • alternate methods of greening (e.g. hydroponics) were briefly discussed.
    • planning over winter, start building in spring


  • Safety
    • We got our fire extinguishers, smoke/co alarm, eyewash station, first aid chest
    • Put safety phone numbers on the door/medicine chest

    • Petty cash rule - unanimously approved. Uncontroversial purchases of under $50 do not need a full quorum vote. Approval of only one board member is sufficient. In edge cases, the full board has the right not to reimburse purchases that ultimately are controversial. Examples of uncontroversial purchases are garbage bags, stationary, cleaning supplies, etc. (covered by board powers in bylaws)
